Junior Bible Quiz
Sep 15, 2010 | 5PM - 6PM
Contact: Denise Rodriguez
Do you have a well thought out plan for teaching your children God's Word? Should you?
Of course, you should! But in today's world, parents rarely have time to set out a plan of action for teaching their kids some of the most important information they will ever need -- the Word of God. But there is hope!
First Assembly wants to help you in this task. Each year from August through April, we participate in the National Junior Bible Quiz (JBQ) program. JBQ is a program offered across the nation to teach elementary-age kids the Bible in a fun way, while incorporating competition to teach them the merits of good sportsmanship. JBQ uses a series of fact cards (sort of like Trivial Pursuit) and a quiz-show-like competition format to help kids learn and keep motivated about learning.
Special group study times and practice competitions with other church quiz teams give these quizzers plenty of opportunity to learn. For more information on JBQ, email info@mykidztown.com or call KidzTown at x338.

PopOut for Missions

Our Boys' and Girls' November Missionary Challenge is to “Pop Out for Missions.”
The national BGMC office is challenging kids to give up soda pop during the month of November. The money that would have been spent on soda pop would then be given to BGMC, which helps needy children around the world.
Here’s how it works
Kids across the nation are to make a pledge to give up soda pop for one, two, or three weeks, ending on Thanksgiving Day. On that day, kids may once again drink soda pop—remembering not only to be thankful for their own blessings, but remembering the children around the world who don’t get to celebrate the many material blessings that we are thankful for on Thanksgiving Day. Kids begin this challenge by taking pledges from their parents. Parents are encouraged not to purchase soda pop for their kids at restaurants or at the grocery store. Parents then calculate the savings from their household budgets and pledge this amount towards their kids’ Pop Out Challenge. Pledge forms can be downloaded below.
Kids can also get pledges from Grandma and Grandpa, aunts, uncles, friends, teachers, and church-goers in an attempt to raise as many funds as possible by “Popping Out For Missions!” We challenge you to not only have your kids take the “Pop Out!” challenge, but to take the challenge yourself as well.
